What are your rights?
Your rights in Victoria
Everyone has rights.
Rights help ensure you are safe and are being treated fairly.

What are human rights?
The video explains what are human rights and how you know if your rights have not been met.
Your rights as a disabled young person
The United Nations created the Convention of the Rights of People with Disabilities to protect disabled people. It is an agreement that ensures disabled people have the same rights and opportunities as everyone else.
For example, you have a right to:
- Get an education
- Have a job where you feel safe and valued
- Have a safe place to live
These are just some of the many rights you have.
Individual advocacy
If your rights are not being met, you can get support from an advocacy service.
