“Our team thoroughly enjoyed taking part in Together Training. We were able to gain an insight into a variety of topics – from inclusive language to creating access keys – in a safe and supportive environment, where discussion and questions were encouraged. Our facilitators were also extremely approachable and supported us in applying our new knowledge to the context of our organisation. All our participants have left feeling more confident in their ability to positively engage with disabled youth, and make meaningful changes in our day-to-day work.” – Deborah, CHASE Community Health Advancement and Student Engagement

Consultations and focus groups with disabled young people

Get the opinions and insights of disabled young people from our consultation workshops and focus groups. We know the best ways to make them safe, accessible and inclusive, including how to remunerate young participants.

“It was great collaborating with YDAS to facilitate a focus group with young people about their experiences using allied health services via telehealth. We partnered with YDAS because we wanted to make sure we were hearing directly from disabled young people who are too often left out of research that affects them. YDAS’s co-facilitator had advocacy experience in similar forums which meant he brought real insight into what it’s like to be on the other side of the questioning. We prepared for the focus group together, and his guidance helped us tailor our facilitation approach in a way that worked best for this group.”Katherine, Health Voices Victoria

“The YDAS team were thorough and generous in their feedback, providing us with specific, short-term recommendations we could action to improve the inclusivity of our work, and broader advice that helped us to find opportunities to improve the accessibility of our work over time. We’re so grateful to the YDAS team for their expertise, warmth and generosity in sharing their knowledge with us. I’d recommend their consultation services to all organisations ready to commit to improving accessibility within the work they do.”Sexual Health Victoria
